Fall is the perfect time for a visit to your local library, and the Crookston Public Library offers tons of great events for all ages throughout the season at a convenient location close to home. Whether you're interested in storytime for toddlers, fun, educational events for older kids, book clubs for adults, author meetups, or classes, there's sure to be an event for you. Our real estate agents have more on what you can expect from the exciting fall event schedule at the Crookston Public Library.
Every week, the Crookston Public Library hosts a Storytime + Craft session, geared toward preschool-age kids. Each session includes a story and craft featuring a unique theme, with the theme rotating every week. Kids age 3-6 can enjoy an exciting, educational story, followed by a fun crafting project with supplies provided by the library. For most weeks, the Storytime + Craft event lasts for about 30 minutes.
How about a fun, educational event for older kids? STEMsational Tuesdays take place on the second Tuesday of every month, with each session featuring a new experiment for kids to try. The experiments are designed to mix fun and education in a way that inspires students to pursue STEM subjects in their studies. Each STEMsational Tuesday features an experiment geared toward kids age 5-10, and another for middle school kids age 10-13.
With two great events at the same time on September 23, 2025, which will you choose? First up is Storytelling with Woodcarver Jerry Ness, an all-ages storytelling session with artisan and storyteller Jerry Ness. Hear a unique story, and see the characters come alive in the form of carvings. This event takes place at the Crookston Public Library and is expected to last for about an hour.
Next up is the Books & Brews Book Club, which will be meeting in September to discuss Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. This event is hosted at Drafts' Sports Bar & Grill, so there will be delicious refreshments and craft beer available in addition to stimulating discussions about the novel. While there's just one on the calendar so far, expect more Books & Brews Book Club events to be announced as we progress through fall.
The Crookston Public Library offers a wide range of tools for researching genealogy, and Genealogy 101 is the perfect opportunity to learn how to use them. This all-ages event is designed to celebrate Family History Month and will teach you how to use the free genealogy tools available at the library.
You'll find author events here throughout the fall as well, starting with "The Thirteenth Crime" with Author Janet Preus on October 16. Join Minnesota-based author Janet Preus for a deep dive into her new book, which takes you back to a different era of Minnesota history and sheds light on a mysterious crime.
